Adaptive Immersive Audio

Showcasing intelligent sound adaptation through Eclipsa Audio technology.

With my colleague Stefan Vanderland, we produced two short videos available on YouTube, implementing the Eclipsa Audio system, a cutting-edge audio technology that delivers a sound signal intelligently adapted to the user’s listening setup.

Concretely, if you have an immersive playback system, such as a surround sound setup or compatible home theatre equipment (note: currently available with certain televisions recently produced by Samsung), you will be able to enjoy an enveloping 360-degree sound experience, literally placing you at the heart of the scene. If, on the other hand, you do not have such equipment, no worries: the signal can also be received in binaural mode, simply with a good pair of headphones. The result remains remarkable and offers a surprising level of immersion for those who take the time to listen carefully.

Our colleague Daniel Courville also generously lent us a hand by testing this technology through his own YouTube channel, which allowed us to validate the experience with a wider audience.

The two videos transport you into natural environments of great sonic richness: the first was recorded at the foot of Mount Gosford, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada, a place of remarkable tranquility, while the second takes you all the way to the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary in Belize, an exceptional birding sanctuary where the soundscape is simply spectacular.

Encouraged by this successful experience, we fully intend to produce new videos of this kind throughout 2026. Stay tuned, in every sense of the word!
