Showcasing intelligent sound adaptation through Eclipsa Audio technology.
Together with my colleague Stefan Vanderland, we produced three short videos available on YouTube, showcasing the Eclipsa Audio system, a cutting-edge audio technology that delivers a sound signal intelligently adapted to the listener’s playback setup.
In practical terms, if you have access to an immersive playback system such as a surround sound device or a compatible home theatre setup (note: currently available on certain recently released Samsung televisions) you will be able to enjoy a full 360-degree enveloping sound experience that places you literally at the heart of the scene. If, on the other hand, you do not have such equipment, there is no need to worry: the signal can also be received in binaural mode, simply through a good pair of headphones. The result remains remarkable and offers a surprisingly immersive experience for anyone who takes the time to listen carefully.
Our colleague Daniel Courville also generously lent us a hand by testing this technology through his own YouTube channel, which allowed us to validate the experience with a broader audience.
The three videos transport you into natural environments of extraordinary sonic richness: the first was recorded at the foot of Mont Gosford, in the Eastern Townships of Québec, Canada a place of remarkable quietude; the second takes you to the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary in Belize, an exceptional birding sanctuary where the soundscape is simply spectacular. Finally, we return to the Magdalen Islands, nestled in the Gulf of the St. Lawrence, for a total immersive experience of this wonderful archipelago.
Encouraged by these promising results, we fully intend to produce new videos of this kind throughout 2026. Stay tuned in every sense of the word!
